This overnight tradition will happen on June 11th. Below is the starting schedule and other logistics related to the trip. At the bottom there is information about how officially sign up your student.

Tuesday, June 11th
3:30 – Arrive at Silverton Middle School at bus drop off area. 4:00 – Leave Silverton Middle School
4:45 –arrive at new ranch, unload gear
5:00- re-board bus for drive to North Falls.
5:15 – North Falls drop-off – All will take 2.5 mile hike to lodge; gear will be taken to Ranch and dropped off. Medical issues cleared ahead of time excepted from walk.
6:30 – Arrive at New Lodge, Dinner – pizza 7:00 – Orientation
7:00 – 11:00 – Evening activities; free time
11:00 – midnight – walk in the woods in the dark – optional
12-1 – free time; games
1 – 8 – “Relative” quiet time in cabin; to be loud means to go on deck or back yard
5:30 – 8:00 Sunrise 6 mile hike with Jamsa – optional
8:00 – Simple Breakfast – yogurt, muffins, fruit, juice
8:15 – Cleanup
8:45 – Bus pickup 9:30 – Back to SMS
STUDENTS MAY BRING SNACKS AS LONG AS THEY RESPECT THE PROPERTY!
The new Silver Falls ranch has a basic kitchen, a large center fire pit, a loft with many bunk beds, and bathroom facilities. Every student will be able to sleep on a bunk. There is no shower or bathtub.
CELL PHONE SERVICE
AT&T cellular customers have traditionally had service at Silver Falls. Everyone else has not.
Suggested List of stuff to bring: (Please label EVERYTHING WELL that is not staying in your bunk)
Sleeping bag, pillow, toothbrush, small towel, other needs for one night.
Good pair of walking shoes; good sweater or jacket for night time
Games, outdoor sports equipment
Small flashlight if available Water bottle
Small, foldable lawn chair if possible
Cost: $30 per students/ chaperones free. Checks made out to Silverton Middle School. Cost includes dinner, breakfast, snacks, transportation, lodging
MONEY cannot be refunded once the trip is officially a go!!!
WHO IS ELIGIBLE: Students must pass science this semester. They must not be on the discipline ladder. If they are on the ladder, they will be considered on a case by case basis. If more than 50 students sign up by May 24th, then productivity points will determine who can go and who cannot go. 50 is currently the maximum number allowed to go.
